I'm writing this review because I am sooooo done with this city's lack of an ability to plan. I live near 52nd st. and Van Buren. There was a marathon today (Apparently I live on marathon ave). I left to try to pay my srp. The roads were blocked, I tried 4 different place that had SRP pay centers and I could not get to any of them because they have no consideration for anyone who has some where to be when there's a marathon. They block of most of the main streets making it more than difficult to navigate the city. Not only do they block it all off; they don't bother with detour signs. When I finally got a block from my house(a half a tank and 1 hour later) the next road was block speaking with the officer he still would not let the local traffic through. The running were gonna be there in 2 minutes (it would have taken all of 25 seconds for us to drive to our apartment. Then the hotline they had us call gave us the wrong directions. They had a terrible connection so the call dropped, when we called back it was an answering service. I had money to spend in the economy today... I won't be spending it because Phoenix is inconsiderate and unprepared. There's no reason they couldn't have a safe crossing street so anyone who had anything at all to do other than running could've done it. This isn't the first time either. You'd think they'd have this under control considering how often they seem to need to trap me in my home. New York has parades that last 6 or 8 hours long and they seem to at least consider there are other people that use the roads.
