I wanted so much to like this place. Just saw "West Side Story". A few excellent performers, two really well-staged numbers. BUT....and this is a deal-breaker BUT......canned music! Really???? Yes, the actors all sing....some exceptionally well....but CANNED music. And the sound system didn't help in any way. Secondly....and I hate when people write a review of theatre but then talk about the seats, or the washrooms, etc.....again "BUT".....2 washrooms, with both men and women lining up (and sitting down) side-by-side. This is political correctness gone mad. One poor old lady had to go so badly but just couldn't bring herself to go into a stall next to a man. I actually think she left at intermission. I'm all for gender neutral washrooms....but I'm also ALL for common sense and respect for the patrons. (to be honest, the theatre part might be good for children and those not accustomed to live performances....a way to get their feet wet so to speak. The young girl beside me was crying her eyes out at the end of "WSS". She'll someday realize that LIVE theatre means all LIVE....not just some parts.)
