| - I stumbled in "by accident", and I'm not really commenting as a "shopper", (although I did make a purchase). That said:
Let me first say that I had never been to [any] Bass Pro Shop before this visit. I was aware that this location existed, as it is prominently visible as you travel along the I-15 in / out of Las Vegas.
I was actually making my first walk about The Silverton Casino, when I discovered that there was direct access from the resort property. As a general statement, it appears if you need clothing or equipment for hunting, fishing, boating, or camping--this store probably has it (or can get it). But that is not why I spent 30 minutes wandering the store.
I understand that sport hunting / fishing may not appeal to everyone. The store does have game birds, fish and mammals mounted in traditional trophy display style; but they also have entire specimens posed in live action dioramas. The dioramas in this Bass Pro Shop rival the quality of displays I have seen in natural history museums in Las Vegas, or anywhere else.
It is so interesting that this retailer has been able to incorporate (dare I say) an educational element into their store, create an added element to the shopping experience, and make their store a destination.
