| - Adorable little ice cream store on the west end, I specifically made a trek here one day in the summer because I heard great things from a friend. I think their main claim to fame is their crazy colourful decorated cones, although their ice cream is pretty good as well. I tried their pistachio ice cream in a cotton candy cone, and the ice cream was delicious - it was lovely and creamy, the pistachio flavour really came through, and there were little nut pieces in it. Not AMAZINGLY MINDBLOWING, but still good. To be honest, although the cones look great, the colourful bits on them (what are they even... pop rocks?) don't really add that much in terms of flavour. Enjoyable nonetheless, and I like that they throw a couple fruit pieces on top of the ice cream.
I came around 12 on a Saturday and there was a barely any line. The shop was larger than I expected with a few tables, so we were able to sit inside for a couple hours while we ate our ice cream. Very legitimately Dutch. Also I was excited to note that they sell some Dutch food products there, including STROOPWAFELS!!! For anyone who hasn't had them, they're like soft, syrupy, waffle/cookie things that are addictive like crack... try them! For some ridiculous reason I forgot to buy a pack when I was here, but next time I have a hankering for some you can bet I will come back here.
