I said in my tip that Saturday's are for checking out bookmarked joints and this Saturday was a winner, winner Po Boy lunch. Hmmm... 1 star for not rhyming.
Seriously though, this place is on point in all respects. Prices, friendliness and most importantly, good food. Now, I'm only going on this one visit personally but all these other 5 stars can't be wrong. Beyond the good quality fried shrimp on the Po Boy they got the bread right. Little crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. I went kind of traditional with mayo but there is their Po Boy sauce along with ketchup, tartar and hot sauces available and i pretty much tried it all.
It was a beautiful day and I sat outside and in about 7 minutes, out came a guy with a tray of goodness. I had the fries (crinkle cut) and slaw as sides and both were decent companions but the star was the sandwich.
They've got a seafood market too where the product looked fresh and the prices seemed reasonable. They'll cook selections for you or pack it to go so you can do it up at home.
Po Boy's isn't in the neighborhood for me but it's a guarantee I'll find reasons to come back!
