  • We booked the Grand Canyon West rim tour. I was looking forward to this tour and was so disappointed to say the least. Let me start at the beginning. The tour brochure states "hotel pick-up" which you would think means you are getting picked up at the hotel you are staying at, right? We were staying at the Palazzo. After I paid for the tour and got my confirmation, it stated that we were going to be picked up at Treasure Island. Yes, that hotel is right across from the Palazzo but they didn't inform you that there was no way to cross Las Vegas Blvd close by our hotel so it took us about 25 mins to walk to Treasure Island. We finally got to the hotel and found the bus parking area. The instructions stated "look for a bus with 1800-4-canyon in the window. There were 3 big white buses there, none of which said anything on them. We were supposed to be picked up at 610. The instructions said to call if we weren't picked up by 615. 615 rolls around so I call. The guest services lady was very nice. She said "your bus is not there yet. They will be there within 5 mins. Look for a bus with grand Canyon tours written on the side. It's big letters you can't miss it!" OK. So I'm feeling better about the situation and we go to sit on a bench and wait. 5 to 10 more mins pass and some gentleman walks up to us and says "are you kasie?" I said "yes." He says "well we've been waiting for you for quite some time. The bus is up here." Wow seriously?! It was one of the plain white buses that had no markings what so ever except 4 numbers on the back of the bus. Needless to say we felt like idiots and everyone was staring at us with anooyed faces when we got on the bus. Next stop was the bus terminal. Here you will find an incredibly rude employee (seemed to maybe be the owner) directing us like cattle into a line to get you bus number. The building is very small so be prepared to stand nut to butt especially with all the Asians there pushing and shoving their rude asses toward the front so they can take their selfie stick and get a picture of God knows what! The line moved pretty fast tho. After we got our number we were directed rudely by the owner gentleman to the refreshment area where you were instructed to take 1 little debbie style Danish, a cup of coffee if you wanted it and 1 small bottle of water and instructed to leave the building. There were several elderly folks trying to stay inside the building because it was really cold out but the rude gentleman yelled at them to "get outside and wait and you better get used to it because you're going to be outside all day anyway at the Grand Canyon." exact words! Finally the bus arrives that is taking us on the tour. The seats were comfortable however that was about it. The tour advertises WiFi on their buses. It was hit or miss whether it was working or not. Do not plan on watching any videos because that wouldn't work. Also don't plan on hearing anything the driver has to tell you. The speaker system on the bus was a piece of shit! Couldn't hear anything but a bunch of mumbling. After telling the driver several times we couldn't hear her so just stated "sorry there's nothing I can do." Then it was time to watch some informative videos about the hoover Dam. I was excited because I was very curious about it. Video starts playing and I think to myself... Wow those are some nice pictures on the screen, but what the fuck are they saying. Once again... Couldn't hear a damn thing! There is a small touristy town about 45 mins away front the Grand Canyon that they stop at to give you your box lunch. I will admit, it was pretty good. Sandwich, chips, and cookie. The tour advertises free bottled water. However they don't tell you that your free water was the 1 small bottle you get in the morning at the terminal. Well 3 hours had gone by and that bottle was long gone. I was definitely expecting to get at least another bottle with lunch. Nope... That's their trick. We'll stop at the only town around and force you to spend $4.50 for a small bottle of water. You would think on a 12 plus hour tour you would get more than one bottle of water. Anyway we made it to the Grand Canyon and it was amazing! Unbelievable! You must go in your life if you get the chance. Absolutely incredible. I just wish we would of rented a car and skipped the tour group all together. Would of saved a lot of money.
