  • In this day and age most barbershops in my experience lack the personal touch. Its all about getting the customer in and out of the barber's chair as quickly as possible. So imagine my surprise when I discovered a barbershop that actually makes an effort to get to know its clientele and gives every client its due time in the barbers chair even if it means staying past normal business hours. Enter the Brooklyn Experience with Charlie and Reny. These guys give customer service a whole new meaning and take the hair cutting experience to the next level. They are meticulous and won't let you leave the chair until everything is perfect. Now I normally just got a number one all around. You go to any other barbershop they give you a once over and then tell you to go fuck yourself. However, here they take their time and the cherry on top is that they throw in a shave. Of course a real barbershop is more then just a place to get a haircut. Its a place where you can shoot the shit and just chill. And if idle banter is not your thing then theres always the big screen tv. Now the Brooklyn Experience has its downside, everybody wants it, which means timing is key. If you can avoid it don't go on weekends because you will have to wait hours. M-th is the best time to go. If you don't operate on a student's schedule and can only come in on weekends make sure to bring something to occupy yourself with. One of the pluses of the shops location is that its close to a quickie market and a few eateries so feel free to wait while hydrated and full and don't worry, Reny and Charlie will save your place in line. The Brooklyn Experience will cost you 15 bucks without tip and there is an ATM conveniently located in the store (cash only business). So if your in the Phoenix area and need a haircut...well shit do I have to spell it out for you.
