  • Avoid this place at ALL COST!!!! I stepped on a large piece of plate in the kitchen and pulled it out and started gushing blood. I immediately had my girlfriend come home from work to drive me to get stitches. I called 2 other urgent cares to make sure they had a nurse practitioner on staff who could do stitches, which they didn't. Luckily, this place had a female practitioner who could do stitches that was working, so I drove 3 short miles down the street with a huge sigh of relief I was going to get this taken care of! I am under family insurance and my mother had changed healthcare plans the same week because of her job. I gave them the first insurance card I had since I thought it would still be active, but they said it wasn't going through. I explained to them how I was in between insurances now and I could have my mother fax or call to give them the new insurance information whenever they pleased, even at the time being while she was working, which they insisted. Keep in mind, I already paid the co pay to be seen and was being hassled about all of this information while dripping blood everywhere in the front office!!! I was bleeding so much that they took me into the back room immediately(within 2 mins). I got my mother on the phone with front receptionist also so she could get the correct information. They came in to re wrap the bandage I had and said they needed to do x-rays to make sure all of the ceramic plate was out. I happily agreed so they could stitch up my foot already(it was BAD, added to FastMed photos) and I could go along with my day! After the X-rays the nurse came in and said my new insurance wasn't going through! Great, I said in my head, now I'll have to deal with this later.. But NO, that's not all. She said I still have some plate in my foot and they can not do the stitches! She gave me crutches and told me I need to go to the ER on Bell and 51 highway, because this was to 'invasive' of a procedure for them. (I BELIEVE THEY DENIED ME STITCHES BECAUSE MY INSURANCE WASN'T GOING THROUGH, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM I WAS IN-BETWEEN INSURANCES AND I COULD EASILY STRAIGHTEN THIS OUT TOMORROW OR EVEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER I GOT THE HELP I NEEDED! OR EVEN SEND ME THE FULL BILL SO I CAN SORT IT OUT AFTER!) I then had to go to the ER and wait 4 hours to be seen for 3 stitches. My bill at the ER ended up being $1,600... My insurance brought it down to $315 (guess what, the ER took me and dealt with the insurance after, why couldn't FastMed?) But the WORST thing of all is this. The ER had to redo the X-rays because the previous ones weren't clear enough for them to see. Once they did the X-rays they found there was not even any plate in my foot!!! And said even if there was they could of still stitched it up if it felt OK to move, which it did. This is just proof of FastMeds lack of customer service and overall ethics as an overall company. I would strongly avoid going to this place. Even if you do go here, just remember, they are only smiling at you because your insurance is processing through their system properly. If not, they'll let you bleed out to death, they could care less.. RUN AWAY!
