I had just returned from Wisconsin and the funeral of my 21-year-old son who had been killed in a car accident. It was an extremely emotional day for me and I knew getting coffee from The Human Bean would make me feel a little better. Jessica was the one to lean out the window and with a big smile on her face and cheerfulness in her voice said, "Hi, How are you today?" And I lost it. Sobbing with tears I couldn't even answer her question. She immediately showed concern and patiently waited for me to regain composure. I told her about my son and then she did the sweetest thing. She reached her hand out the window and held mine and asked me about my son. She let me share some sweet memories while the other workers made my coffee. She showed such compassion and genuine concern, she even bought my coffee for me. A week or so later I returned to get my last Human Bean Coffee as I had decided to move back to Wisconsin to be near family. And guess who was working the window...JESSICA!!! I was so happy to see her again. I wanted to thank her again for how sweet and kind she had been to me. She immediately remembered me AND what drink I like. That is what true customer service is. I'm sure going to miss that little slice of coffee heaven. Not only are the staff outstanding, but the coffee is the BEST I've ever had. Way better than anyplace I have ever been, including Starbucks.
