| - This place BLEW IT big time for my wedding on 7/7/07. First, I was very excited to have gotten the gazebo-with-everything-included-package on this "lucky" day. (I didn't know it was 7-7-7!) When we were called up to go in, I noticed that a lot of other people had yellow roses, as they handed me a bouquet of red.
"Oh, couldn't I get yellow, too?" I asked nicely, and the lady scowled as she said "Is that what you ordered?"
"No, I wasn't given an option," I said, and she ignored me. "Let it go," I thought to myself, "I'm getting god-damned married!!"
The photographer then came to bring us to the gazebo for some shots. He was quite nice, even taking a couple pictures with our own camera. Suddenly, the priest was there, ready for the ceremony to start. PRIEST!!???! I had said I wanted the civil ceremony, not the religious one!! Yet, again, I let this go, because, hey, they were swamped with couples, and well, maybe my Catholic mom would be happy about that...
I was a Mrs. before I realized it, and we were whisked back to the waiting room while our photographer prepared our pics. He brought us back to the office to pay our balance, and that same rude lady was sitting at the register. She showed us our two prints that came with the package, they were so-so, but what do you expect for the gazebo package at the Howard Johnson? Then she showed us a third print, and rattled off that we could keep that one too, for three-twenty...
"I like that one!" I said, and my friend Julie, who was also in it said "No! don't do it! I look like a lard-ass!"
"No, we all look cute!" I said, "How much is it?"
"Three-twenty." said the bitchy lady.
"I think I'll take it.." I said, naively thinking that they were being nice and giving us that photo for $3.20, (I know, I know...)and she swiped my new husband's card before we knew what was happening.
"Wait." said he, "How much did you put for the deposit?"
"65 dollars. So, how much was just that photo?" I asked the lady, and she typed some bullshit into her calculator, and said
"65 dollars."
"Well," thinking to myself that I had the pics on the CD that the photographer had given me, "then I don't want the picture."
"I'm sorry," said that bitch, as she pointed to a sign on her little desk, "No Refunds."
Are you kidding me? I could not believe this shit! And she refused to give us a refund!! I was stunned, and walked out. Just as we were leaving the lobby, another woman asked sweetly how everything went, and I explained my situation. She pushed me to go back to talk with the Bitch, and although I was hesitant, I finally went.
"I just can not believe what you did! I really feel ripped off here!" I said. Again, she scowled at me, took back the damn picture, and angrily demanded the credit card back. I handed it over, and then she had the NERVE to ask for an ID!!!! After she just rang up our Wedding! And handed us our commemorative wedding certificate!
So, I gave her the ID, and without another word, she refunded me the stupid $65.
Thank GOD I'm (hopefully : ) ) only getting married once.
It would have been a decent experience, but that Bitch (who is a manager!) singlehandedly sabotaged my WEDDING!!
Don't worry, folks, I drank my troubles away that night... ; )
