Constantino's is perfectly positioned to monopolize the local food market. The nearest other supermarket is ~2 miles away and up a huge hill. This allows Constantino's to price their selection however they want. So, don't expect any bargains or sales.
Also, Constantino's is limited in selection by the small store footprint. They have all the things you'd expect to find at a supermarket (though a bit biased towards healthy/local/free trade products) but for any given thing there is precisely one kind of it. You want Ravioli? There's one of that. Peanut Butter? One size. Chicken breasts? One (or maybe two) brands.
So let's talk about the good things about Constantino's.
Although the selection is not very deep, it is *broad* enough that we have generally been able to find what we go there for.
Their selection of beers and wines is second to none in the CWRU-campus-area. [They have one tiny shelf of hard liquors at the back of the store -- expect mediocrity if this is what you seek.]
They sell prepared foods -- chicken wings, pasta bowls, beef stew, etc. -- that are a good supplement to shopping (go there for the groceries and pick up dinner as well).
And, of course, it is mighty convenient.
To sum it up in a hijacked quote: Constantino's is the supermarket CWRU needs right now, but not the one it deserves.
