| - I am not quite sure what to think of La Brioche. Loads of nice furnitures, they have exquisite looking chairs and tables. Especially their chairs, they are huge with thick cushions and super comfortable. Reminds me of those over-sized couches you see in the posh hotels. Summer time brings outdoor seating, a quiet aisle of tables partially sheltered and away from the busy streets of University Avenue.
I was there on the eve of Christmas, my friend got one of their holiday bread loaves. Yes, it looks and tastes good but that thing was $11, which was even more than what we paid for our full breakfast meal. I liked the sauce on my Egg Benedict, but would have preferred if it wasn't on a buttery croissant which ended up making the entire dish overly rich. Sausage that we ordered as a side was great, but kind of salty to have it on its own, you need some toast or potatoes to go with them.
My dinner experiences were totally different. We were there to celebrate graduation. And had seafood linguine, mushroom pizza and another pizza with sausage and goat cheese which I don't remember the name. Loved the seafood linguine and the mushroom pizza. The linguine comes with generous serving of fresh seafood and the pizza is an olive oil based pizza with fresh mushrooms and the slightest hint of truffle fragrance. Once again the sausage never disappoints, but I am not a fan of goat cheese, and even a mild one could turn me off. That is purely personal preference, if goat cheese is for you, I would give that a shot.
So as you see I had the good and the not so good times. The reason behind my mixed feelings is that for the price and the food I don't feel like I *have* to be back for any of those. I can get all the above mentioned items elsewhere, either together or in separate restaurants, which are equally as good.
