| - Friday night at 7 pm: this place was packed with a 30-40 minute wait. While some may frown over hearing about a wait, I actually am tickled by such things because this tends to foreshadow what is to come.
Within a minute, my wife and I found a pair of open seats at the bar. The place glowed with lacquered wood, mirrors, and glass. The bartenders were ultra friendly and provided us with plenty of attention. The noise level was elevated there but not overwhelming given the full house. We carried a normal conversation without having to repeat ourselves.
The food was outstanding. We ordered the Belgian Meatballs, 3-cheese board, and the Apple Swiss sandwich with side salad. My wife instantly fell in love with the sandwich. She added some of the bleu cheese from the cheese board to her salad.
The mushroom sauce with the meatballs stole the show. Not only was it creamy and earthy, but it had a mysterious sweetness to it that I learned was from baked black garlic. I used the thin slices of crunchy baguette to sop up every last drop.
The cheese board we ordered contained nuts and honey, Granny Smith apple slices, thin-sliced baguette, crackers, Moody Blue, Hooks 10-year cheddar, and manchego. The wine list was a wee short, but we found our individual wine selections paired well with the food we ordered.
My wife visited the lady's room, and she reported it was very clean.
In summary, we fell in love with this establishment, and we cannot wait for another opportunity to visit.
