| - I guess I have to be the reality check here.
Not a great brewery. I will give them credit for serving craft beer instead of the usual BMC stuff that blankets Las Vegas, and trying to do it themselves. A noble cause, but lots of things that need to be straightened out.
Banger may compete with mediocre brewpubs in other parts of the country, but not on the west coast.
Most beers finish sweet, their "West Coast IPA" had a sweet finish and included C-120 which is totally out of place. The Black IPA I had wasn't hoppy in the least, and none of their beers packed anywhere near the claimed bitterness. Also, 4lbs of dry hops in a 7.5bbl batch for hop aroma isn't worth touting.
Their other beers, like the jalapeno hefeweizen are OK, but aren't stand outs. Their better beers are probably the dunkelweizen and brown.
Nice bartenders, nice interior in Neonopolis.
Still worth visiting while on Fremont, particularly if looking for craft beer. Don't forget the other, nearby, brewpubs at The Four Queens and Main Street Station, as well as Hop Nuts a little south of downtown.
