| - I preferred when Las Vegas was run by the mob. At least they had a heart!! Sure, they were going to take your money, but at least they showed you a good time doing it!! The Corporate Vegas of today is cold, impersonal. They don't see free pirate shows, volcanoes, fountain shows as ways to draw crowds in; no, they just see a loss of profit!! But, the mob... they cared! Oh, I know how it is; I've seen Casino at least a half dozen times!! I'm smart. Not like everybody says, like dumb. I'm smart and I want respect! (O...M...G! I'm FREDO?) I know the mob did some bad things; it's hard to forgive that wombat fighting ring they financed, for example. But, at least they cared!! They had a heart!! It's like they kept us closer than they did their own friends!! That did kind of scare me.
Anyway, those days are gone. Las Vegas is run by soulless, greedy 1%ers who want to become 1/2%ers! But, be that as it may, like Disneyland, you have to visit: the siren's call is too powerful to resist.
I stayed here during the Sun-Thur special rates: only $600/hour and it was worth it. It's the Bellagio!! It really is a spectacular hotel to stay at. Still, when I come to Vegas the only time I spend in my room is sleeping or..... well, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more! But, this was one of my favorite hotels to stay at in Sin City. And if I ever win the Powerball I'll come here during the weekend!!
I had no issues whatsoever with my stay here, and they've got a great collection of restaurants to choose from. Plus, the little shopping area is quite nice, I suppose. I just walk right past, because shopping excites me about as much as seeing myself beheaded. But, that's just me.
Will everything always run smooth and perfect at this (or any) hotel during your stay? Probably not. But, for the Bellagio, if things go wrong, it's more likely you're fault than the hotel's. Bellagio usually gives exemplary service, not as good as the mob would give of course, but better than most hotels in Vegas.
