Downtown Pittsburgh is a very walkable city if you have the stamina. I splurged when I was there with my daughter, and stayed at the Renaissance. We were able to leave our car in parking for the few days we were there. We walked to the Aviary, the Warhol Museum, the Duquesne Incline and the baseball park. The hotel was surrounded by theatres and restaurants, so those were easy to access as well. The rooms were large, and we had a beautiful view of the river. We could almost see fireworks going off in the baseball park one night.
