  • To be fair there were 2 selling points. 1) The fact they had Deadlifting Platforms and a good amount of free weights, while the other gyms in the area had nothing for people into powerlifting and the closest gym that had all these things is about 18 minutes from where I live. 2) The gym with all the stuff I wanted charges 3x what EOS charges, so the cost did come into play. Now one thing that truly annoyed me off the bat. After you sign up, and give them your banking information, they play a sketchy marketing tactic to get you to buy into a Personal Training package, which is totally fine, I understand upsells is what keeps them afloat, but the way they did it was super sleazy. The guy that showed me around and got all my information told me "Ok I'll go back and get you some stuff, be right back", i'm assuming it's the contract paperwork and the receipt for my payment or something along those lines, nope, a personal trainer swoops in and asks you what you're looking for, and a bunch of other questions about your goals blah blah. I politely tell him and he goes "Well, I can tell you don't know much about gyms or working out..." I just sit quietly and nod. (Granted I'm not in the best shape of my life, but that doesn't mean I don't know about working out, even Arnold Schwarzenegger looked bloated when he was governor... but anyway...) He keeps telling me about the wonders of having a personal trainer and i'm waiting for the "paperwork" that never arrives. After his entire pitch I say "No thanks", he gives me a look of disgust, and I have no clue why, I never said I was interested in a personal trainer, nor gave the impression that I was lol, i'm just listening to the pitch out of respect since i'm waiting for something. I get up to walk away and look at the guy that went to "grab me some stuff" he's just sitting there chilling and he goes "oh you're all set" If you do sign up, and you aren't looking for a trainer, make sure that after you get your gym card, you do like that Oscar-winning movie and GET OUT. There are no receipts, no physical contracts, nothing... PROS: * FACILITY- The facility itself is good, spacious and has a ton of freeweights, cables and machines. * PEOPLE - The people that go there are also top notch and friendly. * 2x Deadlifting platforms * It's a real gym (Unlike Planet Fitness). CONS: * SLEAZY SALES - Explained above. * EXTREMELY CROWDED - The only hours the gym is REMOTELY less crowded are from 1am to 6am. If you cannot or do not want to go during those times, you should NOT sign up. It gets extremely crowded, even in the off hours you still have a good amount of people there. * DISORGANIZED- For some reason, the weights are all over the place, no one puts them back in the right place, it's not uncommon to go fishing for a pair of 10's or 5's around the gym. With all that said. I pay $10/mo for 24/7 REAL gym with free weights. I just wish I didn't have to stay up until 1AM to finally be able to go work out in peace and not have to wait for people to free up the benches/weights. You pretty much get what you pay for, but if my schedule didn't permit to go work out in the off hours of 1am-6am , I would not sign up. Just keep that in mind.
