| - Edited on 11/2/16 to include a photograph and more information. I have emailed the hotel about this issue and have received NO RESPONSE.
This place is an absolute nightmare. Checked in, didn't get into my bed until 2am. I had 2 beds and a guest that was sleeping in one of the beds. I unfolded the sheets and saw a small red stain and puncture hole on the bottom sheet (i.e., the one I was going to lay on). It looked like blood and, based on the tinge, likely fresh. Horrified and tired, I shared the other bed. A picture of this stain is attached.
The next morning I went to the front desk and had an incredibly tough time finding someone to help me. I first waited in the main line at the front desk and, after several minutes was told that they couldn't help me and to see guest services. I waited at guest services for 10 minutes and then was told there was a special "managers" line. I waited in that line for 15 minutes.
When I finally reached the desk, "manager" Justin T. greeted me. I explained my situation to him. At first he was obstinate and insisted on an explanation from me for why I did not immediately bring it to the hotel's attention. Apparently my explanation for being "very tired" is not enough. Perhaps TI does not often cater to business-oriented customers. After having to defend my decision, Justin said that they would look into it and call me. I went back to my room for about half an hour and then down to the casino floor where I waited with my phone and lost a few bucks at the tables.
I went up to my room and saw that the sheets were changed. I called the front desk and was transferred to Justin T. He told me that there was no stain, that room service had come up and inspected it. I said that they must have been mistaken and that he should have called me. He told me that I was supposed to wait in the room for room service. First, this is completely fabricated because he never said this to me. Second, I was in my room and, after that, available on my phone. Justin even told me that I was supposed to wait "an hour" for someone to come to my room, compounding the lie.
I was offered nothing for this horrible experience. In fact, I was treated with absolute hostility and disrespect. I didn't ask for anything, I wasn't rude, and I was genuinely trying to get someone's attention about this health issue at the hotel. They ignored me and told me there was no one else I could complain to. Apparently Justin T was the last word on the subject. Disgusting hotel, even more disgusting managers. What absolute pigs these people are.
Treasure Island has now had an opportunity to explain itself but has not even apologized for this horrific experience. They have not even acknowledged my email.
In my life I have stayed at hotels as luxurious as the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC or the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, and have also stayed in sleazy, gross motels that I am not comfortable even entering much less sleeping in. Treasure Island, I am sorry to say, falls into this latter category. You're better off at a Motel 6 for cleanliness.
Update: 11/3/16
TI's "Director of Housekeeping" contacted me and provided this insulting but laughable offer: "As a gesture of goodwill , I would like to offer you a complimentary upgrade to a Petite Suite when you book a deluxe room on your next visit. This offer is based on availability, is non -transferable, and expires November 15th 2017." Hah! This is like getting food poisoning from bad fish at a restaurant and them offering you free desert if you buy the fish again!
As if I would book and pay for another room at TI after being essentially yelled at (and called a liar) for complaining for blood stained sheets! What a joke! This place has no class at all. Certainly has no place calling itself "4-stars".
