Worth persuing if you're already in the downtown / Fremont Street area. Just a few blocks from the Deuce bus stop, this collection of shops and restaurants might be built from shipping containers, but it feels like a true city-center oasis in an otherwise low-density, endlessly sprawling city.
There's a large artificial lawn with a stage that plays host to concerts, movies, games, and other events. Leading away from the lawn is an easily navigable loop around the premises that takes you past many quirky boutiques and inexpensive restaurants. There's also art throughout the venue, including a gigantic preying mantis sculpture.
It all feels like the food truck parks and beer gardens that we have in the Bay Area. In retrospect, it's uncanny and hardly surprising that, while on vacation, I would go out of my way to seek out things that I would like visiting or doing at home anyway.
