  • I would've given this hotel a 4 if it wasn't for the mattress covers. Who wants to go on a vacation and end up with back pain? My guess is nobody! This hotel has terrible beds. Actually, I don't think the mattress is a problem, but there is a huge problem with the mattress covers, at least in room 2006. It bulges all over and it's composed of some kind of cheap synthetic material on top and blue plastic material (like pee pad material) on the bottom part that goes on top of the mattress. That was not all! It also had a very unpleasant odor. We spent 4 uncomfortable nights in room 2006. The very first morning I woke up with severe back pain, which took a downward turn as days proceeded. Here are the pictures taken from one of the beds in room 2006 for your information and observation. I hope this room is an unfortunate accident and the rest of the hotel has normal mattress covers and comfortable beds. Location is good if you want to be near old Montreal and downtown. Metro is very close to the hotel, and Chinatown is walking distance. The staff was very polite, and the hotel is modern and nicely decorated.
