We used Dr. Hart for the past three years. Service was acceptable but this rating is based on a bill from Dr. Hart on 5/4/17 that contained numerous incorrect charges, including one for our son who hadn't even seen Dr. Hart in two years. Thinking this was merely a billing error, we tried three (3) times in three weeks to call Dr. Hart to discuss. In each case, staff informed us that the charge for our son was a mistake, that only Dr. Hart could fix it, and that Dr. Hart would call us. Regrettably Dr. Hart never did return any of our calls. In frustration I finally wrote and hand-delivered a letter dated 5/29/17, including copies from our insurance showing that in fact Dr. Hart had been OVERPAID and owed US a refund. We received one phone message from staff, stating that Dr. Hart had received the letter and was "working on the refund." Six weeks later we received neither a refund nor any contact from Dr. Hart. I cannot imagine any dentist who would ignore a good client who called three times and took the time to write a letter.
I finally complained to the Better Business Bureau. One (1) day later, Dr. Hart's office suddenly made the refund. We still never received any explanation, apology, or phone call from Dr. Hart. The manner in which this was handled -- actually NOT handled -- makes me wonder if this false billing was really just a mistake and whether I need to go back and look at prior billings for other "mistakes." There are too many good dentists in this town to put up with this kind of poor customer service.
