  • Alright guys, this post is just as much for you as it is for the ladies. Every guy has been there, you're in trouble with the lady friend and you need something to put out the fire or at least minimize it as much as possible. A nice bouquet of flowers and a sweet card usually does the trick, so look no further, Sweetpea's has your back Recognized as one of the best florist shops in Toronto by Toronto Life, BlogTO and NOW magazine. Sweetpea's is an eco-friendly florist shop that brings you an array of locally grown flowers, gifts, cards, stationary products and furniture. Sweetpea's supports over 650 greenhouses in Ontario that employ 10,000 + employees. The shop is all about being Green, biodegradable cellophane to wrap purchases are used when possible, they are also working to be part of Bullfrog Power. If you don't know what Bullfrog Power is all about you can read about it here. Sweetpea's is also a full service landscaping company, offering carpentry, stonework, irrigation, lighting and design services. With 15 years experience, the team at Sweetpea's will make your property look amazing all year around. The florist shop has a very rustic, antique, eclectic feel. You walk in and you notice the big Venus Florist sign behind the counter, there's reclaimed pieces all over the store, giving you that artistic feel. To the left, there's a wall full of artistic greeting cards, some funny, some cute and all very unique, and to the right there are displays that have gifts and such. At the back of the store there are more gifts, nick nacks, and you'll also find the cooler with pre arranged bouquets and flowers. The employees are very knowledgeable, helpful, and very artistic when it comes to arranging bouquets. The guys will really appreciate that, let's be honest, we really don't know much when it comes to flowers and bouquets. If you are lucky enough, you might have the chance to meet one of the store mascots that are in the store. Sara Jameson (owner of Sweetpea's) has a sweet spot for Great Danes and cats, she rescues animals that weren't lucky enough to have someone love them like they deserve. You often have to walk around Toby, which is a 145lbs Great Dane. He is a sweet, loveable guy, so give him a good pet when you see him. If you're interested in rescuing a Great Dane or other animals, you can visit Danes in Distress or Toronto Animal Services. Check out my full review http://aboutyourhood.com/2013/11/29/sweetpeas/
