Ah, fall is here and that means fresh crispy apples. It's been a few years since we did this and it brought back a lot of good memories. Unfortunately the place we used to go to is no longer in business so we did a search and found this great place. Very conveniently located and easy to get to. The $7.50 admission per person plus $20 per bag cost is perhaps a bit steep but I really wanted to pick my own. It was nice to walk through the orchard and pick a few different varieties of apples.
There are lots of attractions for children like hay rides, farm animals and a playground so I can see why this place would be very popular for families to come and spend an hour or two. If you are just coming for apples, you can buy smaller bags along with baked goods, cider and pumpkins at the entrance without having to pay the admission fee. We did not check out the winery but some day I'd like to go back for that, too.
The only thing I didn't like was the parking was really crammed but as we were leaving, I noticed the was an open field available for extra parking and would have gladly parked there and walled a bit further to avoid the madness of the narrow front parking area.
