You can't find a better lunch deal in Montreal...buy an entree, and your first beer is only $1!
Inside is a slightly worn but nice rustic brewery setting, giving it a casual yet distinguished atmosphere. The Quebecois ladies will quickly and kindly switch to English once you open your touristy mouth. I think there were 30 something craft beers available on tap, most were reasonably priced at $4-6 in case you want that second beer.
VISIT #1: $15 Mac N Cheese with beef brisket...its huge and delicious! The beef is marinated in some sort of secret sweet deliciousness, and cooked tenderly. Probably one of the best mac n cheese's ever!
VISIT #2: $15 Poutine with beef brisket...generous portions of that same tasty beef on top of a generous portion of golden frites and cheesy cheese curds, topped with that lovely Canadian poutine gravy.
The wife also had the lamb burger and a fried chicken sandwich, both were also savory and delectable. I almost had to knock down a star, the place was never more than a third full, but the food took over 30 minutes. Maybe its just made with extra Canadian care and love, but if you're in a hurry you might need to eat elsewhere.
