| - I've been into Chloe's a couple times now, so it's due a review.
Today I met a friend who I hadn't seen since last Summer. Hectic schedules sometimes prevent even the closest of friends from being in the same physical space.
He'd suggested a couple places in CenPho and I wasn't feeling either one of them, so I suggested we just meet up at CItyScape. I remembered Chloe's was there, so it was a quick decision.
We showed up during the lunchtime rush, which at Chloe's translates to long lines (to the door). The lines moved fairly quickly, though, so we ordered and got a seat within about 15 minutes.
We ordered the chicken pesto sandwich (me), the hot pastrami and swiss (him) and the classic grilled cheese (DD).
The food arrived with little fanfare and no presentation. In fact, to take the picture for yelp, I staged my sandwich so you could see its contents. My adequate sandwich arrived simply sliced in the middle and served with a couple slices of pickle. The pastrami arrived the same way. The grilled cheese? No pickles on the side... just a square sliced diagonally.
My sandwich was slightly better than average, as the warm chicken was quite good. The pesto was a little bland and the focaccia was just okay... but fresh. Still, I was a little hungry after finishing (even with pacing myself as much as humanly possible). My friend felt much the same, perhaps more so. He couldn't help eyeing DD's plate as she slowly ate her cheese sandwich. I don't blame him. If it were just the two of us, I would have stolen a bite of it myself.
I'd give Chloe's a 3.5, but I am rounding up because I love the space, the location and the vibe.
I've had their pastries before and... well... they rock!
I'd go to Chloe's again, but not during the peak lunch hour. And, I would probably just do the salad bar and a pastry (or six).
