| - As someone who cooks and bakes a lot, I've had a bit of a love affair with French food for a long time. In particular, French pastries - which have a reputation as being sumptuous without being overly heavy - have long been a top favorite of mine. However, as anyone familiar with French pastries knows, making these delicious, beautiful desserts is a process few have time to learn and execute.
Luckily, I stroke gold by finding Coquette Patisserie - it's filled with wonderful French (and non-French) desserts. They also offer a selection of sandwiches that are amazing and an impressive menu of wines (coffee and tea are both also available). My wife and I went here to try it out, and absolutely loved it! Ordering was easy, and they brought out everything on a silver tray. We got tea to accompany our food, and were pleasantly surprised to see we got a whole pot (around 2 cups each), The inside is small - there are a few tables scattered around for those wanting to dine in, but it is certainly a place that seems to get more "grab and go" patrons, at least during the day.
In addition to the great service and scrupulously clean environment, the pastries themselves were wonderful! The only down side was the tea, which I highly encourage people to get a side of honey with. The tea, though herbal, was a little bitter, which may come as a surprise if you are used to bagged herbal tea from the store. Loose leaf tea steeps a bit differently and produces a stronger flavor with less sweetness. A little honey fixes it right up, so if you aren't used to drinking loose leaf, definitely get some!
The only suggestion I could offer to this wonderful establishment is to perhaps offer prices on all the goodies - the sandwiches and desserts don't advertise a price, so you must be sure to ask if you are budget conscious!
