| - First thing to happen when we got to our room, I noticed a bad sewage smell. Not enough to bother us too much, but it was noticeable. I brushed it off thinking maybe it was just the AC. I woke up at 6:30am needing to use the restroom the next morning. As soon as I sat down I noticed the floor was soaked but one of my friends had taken a shower before bed, thought maybe it was that and I put a towel on the floor but then I felt something splashing on my leg. I look up and could see the fire extinguisher above me was dripping water. Nothing too heavy, but again, thought it was something minor. Around 7:30a or 8am is when all hell broke loose. It suddenly sounded like it was raining in our room. I thought it was just the room above us and someone taking a shower but I ran to the restroom and there was just water pouring from the sealing onto the floor and it was flooding fast. I ran to the phone and called the front desk for help. The woman at the front desk took a half hour for her to finally stop repeating to me there was no one in the room above us and finally told us the bell hop was on their way to move us into a temporary room. By now the walls are already crying water, water in the hallways, water coming from the ceiling everywhere and getting all over the dresser, the bathroom has half an inch of water and the water is even poring in the closet. My boyfriends suit and my dress were wet. I had my duffle bag with my shoes in the closet that are completely soaked and ruined. I was running around in my underwear and asked my boyfriend to throw me my shorts from by the bed. The room had already flooded so much even my shorts were soaked. We're running around to pack up before more things were ruined we didn't realize it was hot water pouring into the room until my friend stepped in the water and screamed ow. Our room literally looked and felt like a sauna by the time the bellhop got there. I had ran upstairs just before they got there to see what was actually happening. I'm not sure of all the alarms in the hotel but it sounded like it was so hot in the room above us that the fire alarm was going off in there. There was maintenance man in there and he told me that it was a pipe that had burst in the room. The bell hop moved us and he instantly wanted to move us again because the room was dirty. To him dirty was trash in the trash can and the ironing bored out. I didn't mind but I understand this is a policy. He then noticed outside the window there was even water draining outside as well (possibly another bust pipe?) We're now moved into another temporary room and noticed, we're in a smoking room. -___- my boyfriend has asthma. We were so uncomfortable in this room. It reeked of cigarettes we couldn't even try to nap because the bed just smelled like an ash tray. I called the front desk just to get an estimate on when our new permanent room would be ready. An hour -__- we had to wait until the cleaning crew started their shift so we had a clean room to go to. A few minutes later my friend calls the front desk to at least get us a roll out bed so someone else could lay down. 40 minutes and it never came. She called again to ask why it was taking so long and they tell her they're sending a bell hop to take us to our room, but that doesn't explain why the bed never came. Finally in our new room around 11:30 and we can rest. My boyfriend goes down to get us extra keys since we only got two. By now we actually have almost 10 keys because they gave us new keys every time we got to a room. My boyfriend comes back up looking upset only to tell me the woman at the front desk said they were only going to give us $50 credit to get drinks for the trouble we went through. EXCUUUUSE ME!?!?!?!l What the hell is that supposed to do for us!? That doesn't even begin to cover the damage to my stuff. My bag and my shoes alone are $85 put together. The inconvenience of the whole ordeal and all they want to do was give us $50 CREDIT!? Come time for check out I brought down my wet items to them ready to show them the damage and how $50 credit for drinks was not enough. We went to the front desk and asked for the Hotel manager. The guy at the desk took another ten minutes for him to come back. We just wanted to settle this and finally go home. The manager finally comes out and off the back she explains she knows what happen and will comp one of our nights there and remove the resort fees for both nights--she was actually very polite so we were caught off guard because we really were expecting someone rude. In the end we only paid for one night but the the hotel still left a bad impression for us and I don't believe we'll be coming back here anytime soon. As for my damaged items, nothing was given to us to make up for it. My clothes I can wash but my shoes and bag are a loss.
We do want to say thank you though to our bellhop Daniel. He was a great help with all our moving around. We missed him in the end and were unable to tip.
