| - I used to go to Anna's because it was closest to my house and because it was inexpensive. I discovered another place in Ahwatukee and only then did I realize how bad Anna's can be.
I was short on time this last weekend and didn't want to drive all the way to Ahwatukee so I went in and asked for a pedi and a gel manicure. While I was getting my pedi, I asked if she was going to start the process to take off the previous gel (the tin foil on the fingertip process). The girl didn't understand me at all, so I let it go. I sat down to get my mani and she soaked my nails, scraped, soaked and scraped and soaked and scraped again. Then she got the UV boxes and set them in front of me and turned them on. She put several coats of base coat on one hand and had me put my hand in the UV dryer, no timer. Then she base coated my other hand. After a few minutes (no timer) she had me pull my hand out and started the color coat. Something was wrong with the color as it wasn't going on heavy enough or correctly or something, so Anna came over and they discussed in depth and some other language, meanwhile my right hand is still baking. My left hand went back in the UV and she took the base coat off my right hand, twice.
It didn't seem like she knew what she was doing, so after 50 minutes of this fiasco of a manicure I asked her to remove what she had done, which she did, with one of those Dremels. I have real nails, I don't think Dremels are good for real nails, are they? In any case, I still have some nail residue on my nails, I think I'll go to another shop and start over.
So yes, the price is reasonable, but I get better quality elsewhere.
