| - Opus Lounge practically oozes class.
The dimmed lights, individual cushiony booths, and tea lights at every table lend an atmosphere of ultimate coziness. This romantic setting combined with their extensive drink menu make Opus the perfect date venue. Not to mention that the lounge is directly across the street from the Majestic Theatre and a few yards away from the capitol building.
Opus' huge array of signature drinks (as creative as they are well-made) is the real selling point for this lounge. You are basically guaranteed to find a drink to anyone's liking.
The food, on the other hand, was less impressive, in my opinion. The food menu is geared toward small plates for sharing, which in theory fits this lounge perfectly. I felt thst the menu was rather limited and a little bit uninspired.
There were aspects that stood out among the plates we sampled. They offer excellent cheese. Out of the food I tried, I would recommend the crabcakes, which are deliciously crispy, garlicky, and spicy. The sushi and dumplings I found a little bland.
Ultimately, Opus Lounge is great for drinks, and if thry jazz up their menu a little more they have the potential to become a top Madison location.
