| - I love the Boulevard Pool... as a place to lounge, get your feet wet, and sip a margarita.
I do *not* love the Boulevard Pool... as a music venue.
Yes, if you haven't already heard -- the Cosmo routinely drains the water out of the pool, turning into an open space for bands and the like. It's an amazing backdrop, listening to the likes of Andrew Watt, Atlas Genius, Borns, and Panic! at the Disco perform their hearts out with the glittery lights of CityCenter in the background. It's also amazing when the camera crew pans across the audience, and your face briefly appears on that humongous Cosmo marquee hovering above the Strip.
Unfortunate, the fun ends after about 5 minutes. There's nowhere to sit, you're packed in there like a sardine in a sea of high school kids, and heat exhaustion and dehydration are threatening to take you down at a moment's notice.
To add insult to injury, you can't even get a cup of tap water at the bar. Dropping gobs of cash for overpriced bottles is the only option. Even then, you'll have lost your prime concert-viewing real estate near the stage.
After a few hours at the Boulevard Pool, all I could think about was how I'm too old and tired for this. I think I'll catch a show elsewhere next time.
