  • In my past experience, Groupon has been a great way for me to explore new businesses. A lot of places in which I am a regular at now was all because of Groupon's exposure. I like to start off by saying Cecilia is a nice lady, very polite and friendly. The service was for 60 minutes and that's how long it exactly was from start to finish. However, I wish I could speak highly of the facial and massage. First of all, her facials does not include extractions. (That is the main reason why I get facials, to have a professional do something I am unable to.) Honestly it felt like I went in to get my face washed. (She washed my face and put a cream mask on and washed my face again.) Second, the supplies she chose to use... it felt very un-facial-like. When I laid down on the bed, it was lined with paper which reminded me of the paper lined beds you see when you walk into the examining room at the doctor's office. She even ripped a sheet of select-a-size paper towel to tuck into the collar of my shirt like a bib. Instead of using circular pads over my eyelids, she used a wet paper towel to drape over eyes. Instead of using towels to remove the products from my face in between washes she again used paper towels. (I'm not even sure if she used new paper towels or she just kept on rinsing the same one! Usually when I go get facials and my eyes are covered I could hear the aesthetician open and close the door where fresh towels are stored.) And to dry off my face, she used tissue. I know this because after I left I had all these specks of paper on my face. Third, her massage can't be really called a massage. I usually have to tell the masseuse to go lighter, but this massage felt like she was just lightly passing my skin with her hands. I wanted to tell her to apply more pressure but this was towards the end of my session and I was just waiting for it to end. Also, Ceci's Skin Care is located in the backroom of a hair salon. Even with the door shut, you can still hear the outside noise. (Definitely not relaxing!) At one point, people were standing right outside her door having a conversation. (Luckily, she went outside to shush them.) Lastly, booking an appointment was difficult. She has a website but she didn't respond to my message there. I try reaching her via text and received no response. It wasn't until I called and left a voicemail that she finally called me back. I decided to take a chance with Ceci's Skin Care based off of one review on Yelp. (Poor decision on my part; figured this was a new business and that's why it was being advertised on Groupon.) As nice of a lady as Cecilia is, I will not be back again. I can wash my own face.
