I knew the elevators from the Plaza Hotel's parking lot were filthy and creepy looking but it wasn't til the second day (today) that I realized they are also dangerous. As I entered an elevator I tripped and banged my arm on the door to keep from falling. The elevator does not come level with the floor and it shakes/vibrates, moving again slightly after it stops. Sometimes it stops about an inch below the floor, sometimes just above. I reported this to a seemingly inexperienced hotel manager today and all she did was ask if I wanted to fill out a medical complaint. Do they want lawsuits?
The hotel front desk check-in staff person did not greet us as we walked up to the counter after waiting half an hour to check in (and that was a Sunday evening--slow day). I gave her a big smile and she seemed less unfriendly after a minute. Housekeeping gave us one dirty sheet and no mattress pad for one bed. There was a torn sheet on the other bed. Second day housekeeping lady was a sweetie. The A/C needs a filter change or overhaul. It blows out dust particles so that one has to take an antihistamine to keep from sneezing when in the room. I won't call the engineer again. Three have already been up fixing other things like the safe that was broken. Very nice engineer staff but we want our privacy. We have room 1507, which is quiet. But I don't recommend staying here. Toilet seat doesn't fit the toilet in our bathroom and it is also loose. The tub is super slippery as those little texture things have worn off. Little things add up.
