| - I have an update to my previous review. After posting my negative review I finally received a call from the salesman (approx 10days after saying he would contact me). Needless to say, it wasn't a positive experience either. He completely denied we had agreed to a price. Even after showing him a screenshot of our conversation where we had agreed, he still wouldn't admit we agreed on a price. He told me he would talk to the sales manager and get a hold of me tomorrow. True to form I've heard nothing (6 days and counting). So I emailed the person from the dealership who commented on my review. As expected I've heard nothing for this guy either (4 days and counting). This is easily the worse dealer I've ever seen as far as customer service. For whatever reason, they agreed to the deal and then backpedaled. They don't want to sell the car that's fine, but at least have the courtesy to explain why YOU killed the deal. I have no idea why and no one is interested in explaining it. The car is still on their site and has actually dropped in price.
** heres my old review: Car buying is almost always a stressful experience, but my experience at Cardinaleway was a first for me. The salesmen I dealt with are either totally incompetent or they love to play games with buyers. Around 3 weeks ago I stopped in to look at a vehicle. Took a test drive, we liked the vehicle and it was time to crunch numbers. The salesman quoted me the same price as was posted online. However, when we sat down the priced jumped almost $1000. The explanation was aftermarket add-ons, with a markup well over 60-70%. They did show me the fine print on the website listing those charges but in my opinion very deceptive sales tactics. When I told him I wasn't willing to pay those he brought out a sales manager. He explained those were not negotiable. We talked about it for a few minutes but agreed the sale was not going to happen. When I left he said if I reconsider call them. At this point, I'm not thrilled with their business practice and decide against buying. 10 days later the salesman calls to see if I am still interested. We work out a good price on the car and I decide to bring my trade over for their evaluation. The day I come in my original salesman wasn't at work so I dealt with a second guy. I felt bad about splitting the commission so I waited for a day when the original salesman was available. The next day he calls and lets me know my value. IMO it was very low so I told him it was unacceptable. We had a discussion about bad sales tactics, he took offense and told me to 'have a nice day'. Which in my world was a polite way of saying "F@@@ off". The next day the second salesman messaged me asking what we needed to do to get the deal done. I explained my issue with the trade and he said he'd look into it and get back to me. I also sent him what I was looking for as far as monthly payment and my down payment. FIVE days later I still hadn't received a reply. So I text him, he said they were super busy and he hadn't forgotten about me. Later that day he sent a text saying they agreed to my offer. I ask him for the details (interest rate, loan amount etc). He said he wasn't at the store but he'd get the info the next day. The next day I accidentally sent him a text I meant for someone else, he again replied he was busy and hadn't forgotten. That was TWO days ago. All I can conclude is there was never a deal and these guys play games with customers. I have never had a dealership act in this manner and I am beyond disappointed.
