| - This is the best Centurion Lounge by American Express I've ever had the pleasure of visiting; it is easily my current #1 of all airport lounges that I've had a chance to use (for reference, I've tried 28 airport lounges in North America, so this isn't an easy distinction to make). The reason I was able to enter this lounge was because I had an AmEx Platinum card, and was able to enter with two complimentary guests; an amazing perk that membership has for AmEx Platinum cardholders.
From the main entrance, it's a bit of a hike to get here, since you're aiming for Terminal 3. After passing through security, follow the signs and take the D Tram from Terminal 1 (Red Line). The lounge is in Terminal 3, after you go up the left-most escalators (exiting the red line tram), straight ahead of you, behind blue doors across from gate D1.
As you enter, you'll notice an assortment of seats (from the soundproof single seats, to nice couches, to leather leaning chairs), with outlets within arms reach for 90+% of seating, a separate sound proof kids play room, café seating (also with outlets), and TV's scattered around the lounge showing a variety of programming from CNN to SportsCenter (for game day). The buffet is nut-free (including the cookies, but the cookies are made in a facility that handles nuts), and has both hot (including soups, specifically udon and tomato when I visited) and cold foods (salads) at the caliber of a full meal (chicken, carrots, brussel sprouts, salad, soup), along with standard fruits (apple, banana, pear, orange), rice, roasted mushrooms, and more. My two complimentary guests enjoyed the food, and I took advantage of the full bar (the bartender and staff in the lounge are friendly and fantastic - tip well!), as well as the buffet meal, which was both delicious and filling.
The "luxurious" aesthetic is everywhere, and the attention to detail is impeccable: from the layout and feel of the lounge, to the cashmere-like paper towels in the bathroom, to the amazing staff that constantly patrol to remove used plates, cups, cutlery, and clean / wipe down the tables, this lounge definitely feels no less than "high-end" - and remember, this is *Vegas* we're talking about.
The major surprise I ran into: this lounge does not offer canned sodas or juice that you can bring with you to your flight, but I did notice that you could ask the bartender for bottled smartwater if you needed it. There was still the standard coffee and water/juice dispensers with cups, but I was quite surprised at the lack of canned soda, especially since every other centurion lounge that I've visited (4) offered this.
