Sleep is really the time machine to breakfast and Matt's is a great spot to take your sleepy head for breakfast. I'm a fan of the Phoenix location but this one is perfect for a bike ride along Tempe Town Lake and nestled among the beauty of Marina Heights. Once inside, it's sleek and modern with colorful chalk drawings displaying. I like the short menu so you aren't overloaded on those hangover mornings. There are a variety of specials each day of the week but I stuck to the waffles....something about those airy pillows of carb goodness had me. If the freshly brewed STRONG coffee from the Roastery of Cave Creek doesn't perk you up, the bellini and margarita are pretty delish good eye openers. Just a note, there's few 5 tops (3 to be exact) so not the easiest to accommodate large parties. You MUST have all people present to be seated. Or if you can squeeze in, sit at the bar and gab with a few Sun Devils. The waiting area is spacious on the outdoor patio that you can stalk the diners to hurry and finish up! Parking is pretty easy and they will validate for the garage. And if you've overindulged, just walk steps to the gym across the yard or take a quick run around the lake.
