  • This is a tough one to write. The food is outstanding. My wife and I went to St Francis on recommendations from friends. Also, the Chile Burger was listed as best burger in the state by a food website that I follow. The location is a little out of the way from our home but since we were downtown for the flea market, we thought we would stop in for lunch. The place is very cool. It has a very hipster modern vibe. All of the food is locally sourced and you can taste the freshness. We went on a Saturday and all they were offering was the Brunch menu. This was a great disappointment as many of the recommendations we received were not offered. My wife wanted the French Onion Burger and I wanted to try the Pig Dip. Neither were on the brunch menu which I can't be mad about, we should have done our research. The thing that bothered me was the service. When asked if they could make the FO Burger, our waitress seemed very offended. We received good service prior to asking, then from that point on, the service was very bad. Our waitress was very condescending and not welcoming. I ordered the St Francis Bloody Mary and the Green Chile burger, the burger was phenomenal. The Bloody Mary was strange and I don't think I would order it again. It had very strong citrus flavors with a serious kick on the end. It was a little too spicy for my liking. Back to the burger, I wouldn't argue that it was one of the best burgers in the state. The bun was freshly baked and the chiles were very sweet and flavorful. Everything on the burger was fresh and tasty. My wife had a salad and said it was average. She did like the addition of apples to more or less a cob salad. The salad didn't come with bread so we ordered some to take home. It was very good and very reasonable at $3 a loaf. A Salad, Burger, Bloody Mary and Tea was $44.00 before tip. It was a little pricey but I imagine you are paying for the locally sourced goods. The flavor of the food would be a strong 5 stars, value of food maybe 4 stars and service 1.5 stars. Going to round it out to 3 stars. I am not sure if we will go back.
