| - This place needs Jon Taffer desperately. They are making some STUPID mistakes with their establishment. First off, their website lacks much information. They will show one or two upcoming events, but that's it. Maybe they rarely have events here? I'm not sure. If they have the space though, they should use it at least every Friday and Saturday night. This would increase profits so they don't have to pinch pennies when they do have events. Which brings up my second point- the nickeling and diming of customers is just stupid. Now they charge $5 to park in their crappy dirt parking lot. Really? This isn't a downtown area. It's the middle of nowhere. There is no reason to charge for parking. Penny smart, dollar dumb as Jon Taffer says. The beverages are over-priced, and they have no food here.
We came here for a Sebastian Bach concert and paid extra for the "V.I.P." I'm still trying to figure out where that money went. It was supposed to include a commemorative pass, but I was told they ran out of them. Then it was supposed to include special front row standing area. However, even though it was fenced off, there was zero security so anyone could walk back there. And the fenced area was so small I was dripping sweat because it was so hot and there was not A/C or swamp cooler. I thought maybe the VIP included a meet and greet, but then I found out the meet and greet cost extra. When I talked to management they told me, "Oh, that's the band's management, we have nothing to do with that." Well, maybe you could find out ahead of time and post that information on your website. The VIP was also supposed to include two free drinks. Nowhere on the ticket does it say what the drink is, but as soon as you get there, there is a big sign that says "Drinks are choice of venue." So I was given these two little baby shots of some crappy fruity flavored alcohol that they probably serve at high school parties. A total joke. You can't afford to give us two cans of beer? At least give an option for a Pabst Blue Ribbon or something (probably cost the venue 50 cents to buy those, maybe less). Again, pinching pennies, but pissing off your customers. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I can't give zero stars, and I will say they probably deserve a star for the acoustics in this place. However, another thing that is a total waste is the "cabaret" in the inside area. What is the point of this? I came here for a concert. This is totally pointless and confusing to me. I hope the OWNERS (I tried talking to the management but that didn't work) are reading this. Here are my suggestions:
-First off, update your website- include a calendar of events for the next month or two at least- include days that your establishment is closed, times it's open, prices of everything, menu, pics of the place, ACTUAL start times of the shows including estimated times for each performer including the opening bands and headliners etc. etc.
-Stop nickeling and diming your customers- drop the parking fees, allow REAL free drinks (a beer, glass of wine or mixed drink) if you're going to include free drinks with the VIP and don't say it includes a commemorative pass if it's some crappy sticker and you don't even have enough of those!
-Ditch the Cabaret or whatever you call it going on in there. People come here for a concert and this is a waste of space over here. Put a camera on the stage and have the concert showing on some TVs so people can still see the show if they are getting a drink or going to the bathroom. Either serve food inside or have a food truck or little taco stand outside instead.
-Increase the size of the "VIP" area and do a better job with the security so that not just anyone is going there. Also, a great way to make the VIP experience a REAL VIP experience is maybe put a giant swamp cooler or outdoor A/C unit for these people so that they aren't sweating buckets while enjoying the show.
-I hate EDM (electronic dance music) but it is very popular and you are located less than 5 miles from one of the biggest universities in the country filled with young college students who love the stuff. You need to cater to this crowd at least sometimes. Having some techno music shows here will increase profits so you are not nickeling and diming the people who come here for the rock shows. I don't know much about which DJs bring in a crowd but I'm sure you could research it and have those shows maybe 1-2 times a month at least. And again, have this on your website so people can plan for it.
