| - My daughter had just exited one dentist who told her she needed emergency surgery for 4 impacted wisdom teeth, or the infection she had would have her in a hospital soon. My daughter has AHCCS until her job medical insurance kicks in, and this office does not take it, so the visit was out of pocket. Due to the emergency nature of her situation, AHCCS told us they would cover most of the expense, and they referred us to Dr. Kenny Lam at this practice. My daughter called and spoke to Robin to make an appointment, this conversation was on speakerphone, so I listened as Robin was exceptionally nasty, rude, and she kept cutting my daughter off to interject all the things that AHCCCS wouldn't pay for...she was basically trying to discourage the visit, because she apparently didn't want to deal with AHCCCS, or worse...she has a classist mentality , and didn't want to deal with us. Everything Robin, so rudely tried to tell her, by over talking her, we already knew, and we were prepared to pay the out of pocket costs. My daughter, who has a painful infection, which was already aggravated by the dental prodding a few minutes before...by now, was in tears, so she just hung up the phone, which is what it seemed was Robin's goal. I called the office back, because I felt the office needed to be aware of this woman's unprofessionally crass behavior. Robin answered, and when I asked for the office manager, or her name or voicemail, she literally argued with me, and outright refused to give me even a name! This was unbelievable! I mean, she just kept going, and going, and asked me if I was the last caller, she questioned what I needed the name of the office manager for, then she literally became argumentative again with me about my daughter's call, when she wasn't even sure who I was...Plus, all my daughter ever did was sit there and allowed this woman to brow-beat her. When she saw I wasn't backing down in obtaining the name of the office manager, she told me she wasn't in, and that she was sick...as if that would make me go away. I pressed again for the name of the office manager, for something like the sixth time... then, she finally gave it to me. She told me the office manager, Melissa, would be in tomorrow, and that she would be sure to tell her all about us????? This is literally the absolute worst treatment possible! If the office is classist, and discriminatory toward people with AHCCCS, then they shouldn't accept it at all. I don't know if this horrible treatment is the reflection of the office as a whole, or just this awful Robin character, but I'll make sure the doctor knows what goes down in his office, and I'll find out if the entire practice discriminates when I speak to Melissa - if she even exists.
