  • More like a 3.5 stars overall, and I guess 4 stars for the room itself. I arrived on a Wednesday night and checked out on Friday morning. The first thing we noticed was the maze you have to go through to get to the self parking. We parked on the 4th floor and had to walk through the mall to get to the hotel. How ass backwards is that? The next day I noticed people going in and out of the door to the right of the front desk. I inquired with the concierge and he let me know that it leads to the "smoking area." I said, "Does it connect to the parking structure?" He replied, "Yes." Why are there NO SIGNS when entering the hotel, or even IN the hotel, that the 3rd floor gets you straight into the lobby? Ridiculous. So we parked there from then on. This make checking out MUCH more easier than trying to get to check-in. Note to PH Towers, please place more signs for your guests. The hotel itself was nice. What I wasn't too keen on, was the black toilet. I'm a gerb phobe and not being able to see how "clean" the seat was, was a little unnerving. The room was pretty large and included a small kitchenette to the left upon entering the room. The bathroom is to the right. The shower/tub also had jacuzzi jets. Fun! :) No where near as awesome as the one in the Trump (where I had just come from), but cool nonetheless. The room was very spaceish. The windows literally are the entire length and height of the wall. The view was awesome. The MGM was right infront of me and I also had a view of the strip and of the airport, so I could see planes coming in and taking off. The window covering is operated by a switch near the tv, which allows you to open or close the shade. The bed had lights on the sides and on the headboard. I really liked that. I read another yelper saying there was no in-room dining menu in the room, however ours was on the coffee table. There were no other books though. There is no "Do Not Disturb" sign, it's all electronic. There are some buttons by the door and you push "Service room" or "please do not disturb" or "anything, anytime." Pretty cool! One complaint I had was that there is no ice machine on the floor. Infact, when I called to find out where it was (as there is an ice container in the room), front desk told me it is on the 5th floor. Ok, so you want me to go down to the lobby, and to the other elevator to go up to the 5th floor, go back down to the lobby, and go back to my elevator to get to the 19th floor, all for a bucket of ice?! You've got to be kidding me. This was probably the most ridiculous thing about the hotel other than the initial parking situation, which was resolved after I did some inquiring. Room service was okay. The lady who brought my breakfast was very friendly, nice and plain awesome. However, the food, not so much. I was a little disappointed in the food, and barely made a dent in it. I ate just enough so I wouldn't be starving. However, room service was fast and there was a lot of food for what I paid for, compared to other hotels. (I like to try room service once at each hotel I stay at.) My last night there I was woken up several times between 1:00 and 1:30am. So I finally called down to the front desk to make a noise complaint and in no time, security was sent up and things quieted down. I understand it's Vegas, and some of you want to just party and get stupid, which is fine. But please be considerate of other people who actually want to get some sleep at 1am. :) Overall, this hotel gets a 3.5, and 4 for the room. I would stay here again, for sure and recommend others to try it out as well.
