| - I was meeting a client at The M Resort and needed a place to have lunch. The buffet was featuring a seafood special, which we didn't want, and Hash House had no line.
Let me tell you - This was one of the most awful experiences I have ever had. After waiting for nearly 10 minutes for a server, I requested that a vegetarian hash be served as a regular omelet. The server told me, "No, we don't let people make changes. Our chefs can't do it.". Having worked in F&B for over 15 years, I was somewhat surprised. I asked for a manager, who came over minutes later. He suggested an omelet with goat cheese, which I don't eat. He then just stared a me blankly. I explained that truly all I wanted was a vegetarian omelet, no cheese. He told me that he would need to charge me for each change I made. He wording was "It's going to cost you if you want to make these changes.". I told him that I didn't mind paying for what I wanted, but that I resents being made to feel punished for asking for a vegetarian meal. He said, " It's not about punishment. But the truth is that I've worked for this company for over 10 years and when customers try to make changes, even with good intentions, they sometimes don't like what they get, and we don't feel we should have to be penalized for that."
Really!?!? Hash House a Go Go is trying to maintain brand standards? Is it really an issue?
Ultimately, the manager said, "I'll do it for you this time, n
But not in the future."
Well, don't worry...I'll never be back.
PS - the omelet was what I wanted, but I can get an omelet anywhere and not have to be treated so poorly.
