| - The Boulders Resort is a beautifully landscaped resort. If you're 45+ and here to just golf and play tennis, with an affinity for Southwestern motif, then this is definitely right up your alley. I stayed in the Sonoran Casita. The TV was still the 27" tube TV (but this is disclosed in the description). The Sonoran Casitas are one story and usually a duplex with the old-style connection door between the two units. Although the casitas look like adobe, they're just cheap stucco, and so there's no soundproofing. I could hear every word my neighbors were saying, and could hear their TV (and I know they weren't playing the TV loud either). As the other reviewers mention, there's a walk-in closet with built in drawers. Bathroom has double sinks, separate tub, shower, toilet. But the resort lost points with me for not keeping the rooms up. One of the sink's stopper lever was loose, and so I was unable to drain the sink. One of the reading lights above the bed was out. The other sink's porcelain bowl had a chip/crack. The staff is friendly. But as others have pointed out, service can be touch and go. I was supposed to get a newspaper. It never arrived.
In this day and age of being ecologically conscious, the casitas have an inordinate amount of lights through out, and none of the bulbs are eco-friendly bulbs. They're all incandescent bulbs :(
Pluses wifi throughout the facility - yeah, it's included in the resort fee :)
It's dead quiet here. Civilization seems like miles away. Lots of wildlife running around the facility. Also, each cluster of casitas are s-p-r-e-a-d out throughout the facility to achieve max privacy. If you don't like walking or seeing nature, this isn't your resort But if you like to hike/bike/rock climb/golf/tennis, ie. you're active sporty type who doesn't need Ed Hardy-wearing wanna-be's nearby, then this might be heaven..
