As a short person I appreciate Mesa Amp. Usually when I go to concerts I end up not being able to see the band unless I'm right up front in the first two rows or so. Not the case here! And that makes me beyond happy!!
While the parking lot was full by the time we arrived, there was ample free parking around the area within was just a short walk to the venue.
We came around the time the second openers took the stage and the security line was nearly empty. Before I go to a concert I always make sure to streamline my purse to a smaller one with just necessities (this makes getting through security faster) so I had no problems passing the 12x12 purse size cut-off. If you bring a larger bag, you will be asked to go back and put your bag in the car before you are allowed into the venue (what happened to my friend).
Personally, I wish the venue was non-smoking but it is outdoors. Also, because it is outside, you need to plan for the weather and the grass. Just be sure to dress accordingly or take your allergy medication if that's a concern. And yeah, concession prices are high but no more than at any other venue.
In the end, the sound that evening was fantastic and we had a lot of fun!
