| - A lot of effort seems to have gone into this valet service - there's a large covered area right by the entrance near Holt Renfrew with heaters, and the lane is long enough for a good number of cars to pull up in.
In theory, the valet service has been designed so that you simply need to dial a concierge number shortly before you're ready to leave the mall so that an attendant can fetch your car and have it waiting for you curbside. Unfortunately, this feature was poorly advertised and it seemed like many people, myself included, were completely unaware of this service and thus after lining up and paying the cashier, were left waiting for our vehicles that never came. Of course, eventually the manager realized we were all waiting and sent a bunch of attendants off to find our cars. Points go to the hapless attendants who literally sprinted to the garage in dress shoes to fetch our cars.
At $15 it definitely isn't cheap but when it's the holiday season and you're in a rush to get your shopping done, it's a small price to pay (and self-parking would probably cost the same at Eaton Centre anyway).
And of course while it doesn't really affect how well the valet service operates, the matching attendant uniforms (black ushankas, coats, pants, and shoes) were actually pretty snazzy and help make this valet service seem just a touch more polished and even fashionable - rather appropriate for a shopping mall.
