After having a relatively good purchase experience in the past, I returned to Autonation Ford when it was time to trade my vehicle in seeing they had a certified pre-owned Edge on their lot that sparked my interest. I emailed back and forth with one of their sales guys about my trade and we talked #s, etc... that piece was relatively pleasant and easy going - enough so to get me to drive from Gilbert to North Scottsdale to look at the car on my day off. It was downhill from there.. That salesman wasn't working so I was assigned some random guy to work with me when I walked in the door.. I test drove the car and said I wanted it, my co-buyer info was all ready to go - nothing to do but sign finance paperwork... which I waited almost 3 HOURS to do, when the dealership was completely empty at 9 am on Wednesday morning..?! This was on Valentine's day..
I didn't actually take delivery of the car then and there either because I wasn't driving my trade that day, so I said I'd come back that weekend and they assured me the new vehicle would be ready to go. Come back a few days later to get my new car, they say everything is ready to go, I'm missing my books and my front floor mats (we'll find them for you we promise!) and I'm told financing should be wrapped up on Monday or Tuesday that next week. The car REEKS of cigarettes, can't figure out why - especially since they were supposed to have detailed, etc. before I picked it up (granted I know that's a hard smell to kill)..
Fast forward.. It took THREE weeks to fund my financing and no one in the finance department would return my calls/text/emails.. I ended up having to make two extra bi-weekly car payments on my trade in before they finally paid the loan off. As of today it's been a month and I STILL don't have my floor mats or my books. Over the weekend I got so sick of the disgusting ass ashtray smell I tore the car apart and found a bunch of cigarette butts in the car that their "detailers" didn't bother to throw away (or maybe they left them there? who knows...). Needless to say I'm thoroughly pissed with this whole experience. I'm still waiting to get my overpayments back from my old loan while simultaneously being responsible for payments on the new one.. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone..
