| - I'm going to write this review while I'm a bit buzzed still, because if I don't, it'd be a 2-star summation. Points for high ceilings and decor. That's it. It's a good night to be generous, so here we are, in uncharacteristic brevity:
I had my free buffet ticket, which included $10 anywhere else in the casino. I went here on (observed) Veterans' Day because the line elsewhere was too much, and it was time to try something new in RedRock. What a letdown.
I had the Calabrian Shrimp Pasta, which sounds exquisite, but is not. It has heat, as indicated by the chili descriptor, but is otherwise devoid of flavor. The entire dish is uniform, no variety in flavor. Noodles too long (twss) and missed the al dente part. This is all I had.
The capstone was billing out. I was told my state-issued ID with veteran status indicated was insufficient. It's a Veterans' Day promo, so imagine the frustration and, sitting next to others, the show. Somehow my casino-issued card cleared the way, though. Thank you for your service? None of that. A manager had to be called into play.
"Oh okay, yes, she will take care of that." Brilliant.
A small but telling fiasco.
Plan: enjoy a free buffet of quality food.
Result: mediocre-at-best food at Hearthstone, the runaround, and a $25 tab. $35 on a regular night for blasé pasta and shrimp, and one beer? God bless America.
You'll find better food at the Feast buffet a short casino-floor walk away, and far superior service. Would have done better using that coupon at Aunti Anne's pretzels.
