This past weekend, my fiance and I went to the Mint Museum Uptown in celebration of 80 Years of the Woman and the free admission special. I've been wanting to see their art, as I am getting married there next summer, but have not had the opportunity to go until this weekend.
I was blown away by how large the museum is. it was amazing! I love art, so this place was fabulous for me. I started on the 5th floor which had a really neat exhibit on bulletin boards that had been turned into themed fashion for women. Very cool. I made my way down to the 1st floor and stopped at every gallery along the way. It was crowded but there was good flow and people were moving right along. There were some attendants in the galleries who were very friendly. I had a great conversation with one of them regarding which piece I was going to purchase (ya know, after I sell all my organs to be able to afford it).
We stopped in the gift shop on the way out, which had some really neat things! I bought 2 postcards to send to my grandma.
I highly recommend visiting The Mint. It's beautiful, inspiring, and bigger than you think.
