The aquarium section at this PetSmart needs improvement in their maintenance and customer service areas. I've been here a couple of times and it seems like they're running off schedule with cleaning the fish tanks properly. Aquarium plants here look undesirable as they were full of algae, had an undesirable look to them, and were arranged in a way as though they were just simply dumped into the tanks.
I'd purchased a tank online for pick-up a week ago and visited the store to pick it up. When I opened up the box and examined the tank near the cashier, I realized that the tank was previously used before and was returned and was missing the filter cartridge and a plastic clip for the lid. It was clearly used by someone else before as there were water stains and the packaging for the individual components were missing. The main packaging box was clearly damaged on one side with a large dent in it. If this was returned, why did the employees not properly examine the product for missing components? I asked for a return but they insisted on looking for the missing parts by opening up other tanks to look for a replacement. The supervisor at the store displayed an insincere attitude and seemed bothered about my situation.
I managed to get my return in the end but I do hope that they won't be putting the same tank back on the shelf for someone else to purchase again!
