TL;DR : Tea Shop 168 with a new logo and higher price point
Don't believe in the hype you'll end up stuck in a line and leave disappointment (if you're used to better quality bbt) given that this is a sister-brand of Tea Shop 168 I didnt expect much but had my hopes slightly highly than if I were to visit a TS168.
Came here a few hours ago and noticed a line out the door (which is usually a good sign right?!), given the wait time my party and I decided to check out the menu which has everything from bubble tea to bubble waffles and ice cream. Decided on 4 drinks; coconut milk tea + sesame tapioca, iced black coffee, peach oolong tea, and milk black tea + sesame tapioca as well as a Oreo bubble waffle + Oreo ice cream.
The whole gimmick of this place is the in-house tapioca and the plastic reusable bottles, which is just a generic bottle with a sticker of the logo on the bottle.. lame if you ask me you pay slightly more for the bottle but end up with less product than a large . I found the tapioca really hard and chewy by the time I received my drink which I was shocked because that was supposed to be one of the "wow" factors.
The actual -tea was on pare with your standard Tea Shop 168 affair. Nothing special nothing to talk about. The best drink we had was the Iced Coffee which was just black anyways. The bubble-waffle was dry and crunchy and the ice cream tasted like the cookies and cream from Mandarin.
My total for everything (which we all got the plastic basic bitch bottle) was about $40 tax in. WOW I could've gotten 7 drinks at Cha Time/ CoCo for that price.
I wouldn't come back again when Coco is down the street and Cha Time is a few doors down.
+1 for the bomb hip hop Scarborough vibes in the background ya dunno fam I wish your bbt was as lit as your playlist.
