We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years and have never had many complaints. We recently booked a nights stay on Dec 12, 2015. Upon our arrival for check-in, we noticed that it took several minutes before we were called to the check-in counter. There was only one person in front of us, and many staff members behind the counter.
After we we checked, and made our way to the room, we were were approached by several people within the lobby who were trying to trick us into some sort of a time share. This happened three separate times during our initial approach to the elevators, as well as every time we walked through the lobby area.
I paid for an upgraded room that had supposedly been recently refurbished. It was a non-smoking room, that had a strong odor of cigarette smoke inside. The shower faucet was not working properly. The heater did not work, only blew cold air. The light fixture in the bathroom was falling down from the ceiling.
We were very dissatisfied with our stay at the Westgate.
