I have to say that living here there have been some really nice people that live here; very friendly for the most part. Of course there is the occasional parties on the weekend since there are GCU students here, but the parties are not too out of control and if they are I haven't noticed. The gym being 24 hours was nice, just haven't used it in a little while. The insides of the apartments are nice, just have to be creative with storage and organization. Although there are a few good things, there are too many bad things about these apartments.
The old management was great, but this new management is horrible. They don't inform you of changes or even call you back. I had a friend who was trying to rent from here back in August. She looked at the apartments and called the next day about renting. She left several messages and finally received a call back 4 weeks later. You would think that they would want to contact potential renters back. Guess not.
The parking is a huge issue. Not only is there no uncovered spots to park at night people have their guests park in the covered parking. There has been multiple occasions where someone has been parked in my assigned spot. I could not do anything about it because this new management did not provide the new tow cards. I had to keep asking for it and I finally got a card for the new towing company. Then when I called to have someone towed from my assigned spot since I had no where to park the tow company said that in the contract they can only come out if management calls them. That is ridiculous since management is not available when the tow company is needed the most. Of course management does not do anything about it.
Multiple days a week, the building would smell like weed and would come through the vents in the apartment. You could only imagine being pregnant and freaking out about having to bring a baby to an apartment that was reeking of weed a couple times a week. Not okay. I complained to the office multiple times and all I got was that they would talk to the manager. Nothing had been done about it. One night it was really bad again and I had my baby so I ended up calling the police. I provided that information to management and got a run around telling me to call police if it happens again even though smoking weed is a violation of the rental agreement. The smell continued coming through the vents and management still refused to do anything.
Almost forgot to mention the gun shots. Down 17th Avenue there is always something happening. Some nights you will hear rounds of gun shots. Just make sure the apartment is not on the side closest to that neighborhood.
Ultimately it is your decision on whether to move here, just take everything into consideration. Just be careful who you speak to in the office because they use temps sometimes. The manager uses this as an excuse. Try to talk to Christina, she is really nice (probably because she was apart of the old management).
